Light The Lamp 2018 -Thank You!!
Thank you to all who participated in and who attended #LighttheLamp2018!
From Ian Flynn, Director of Sports and Recreation and organizer: “I wish there were words to describe the feeling our light the lamp team is having this evening. The sense of community pride that I have experienced is something I have never seen or witnessed before. I wish I could name every person that played a role in making this a success but it would be impossible. Sponsors- Staff- Officials- Volunteers – Vendors- Security- Traffic- and on and on and on… The biggest accomplishment is knowing that all the kids had a great time. For once, I am at a loss for words. I have to say thank you to all the teams that took the chance on coming out to Bay Roberts for a first-time event, not knowing what you were in for. I have volunteers thanking volunteers- it’s beyond amazing. We will be announcing #LighttheLamp2019 date in the coming days and we hope to see you all back again!!!”
From Mayor P. Wood of Bay Roberts “A big thank you to EastlinkTVNL & Glenn Littlejohn for broadcasting games at #LighttheLamp2018 Great to have the support of many community minded sponsors. Wouldn’t be possible to run such a venture without them.”
From Glenn Littlejohn: “Some 20 games later Light the Lamp 2018 is in the books. I want to thank the team at Eastlink for asking me to be part of their team. To Corey and Chelsea thanks for a great experience. A SHOUT Out to the Organizing Committee on an amazing event and to coordinate some 123 teams and 1000 players on 17 courts deserves credit where credit is due. To all those who volunteered in any capacity my utmost admiration to each and every one. Well done folks.”
From Suzanne Mercer-Drover, Bay Robert Department of Tourism “Being involved with this event from start to finish I am beaming with community pride and so proud of what we have accomplished it’s too hard to put into words. The staff, endless volunteers and sponsors made this event an amazing weekend for all of its participants. There’s nothing better than seeing people smiling on a sunny day walk into the event and see them wearing the same smiles as they leave in the pouring rain.”
