3rd Annual “Young Folk at The Hall”

The Town of Bay Roberts, the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Arts Society, & Fergus O’Byrne present the 3rd Annual “Young Folk at The Hall” in Bay Roberts. Leading up to the concert two three-hour workshops (approx) will be conducted on the two Saturday afternoons prior to the concert (May 19th and May 26th). A Sunday evening concert featuring young musicians (ages 7 – 18) will be produced at The Shearstown Community Centre on Sunday May 27th, at 7 pm. The purpose of the workshops will be to give the young musicians an opportunity to share their talents with other young musicians in an informal setting; to develop musical relationships among the young musicians; and primarily, to foster the idea that playing music in a “session” setting is an enjoyable and fulfilling activity. The content of the Sunday afternoon concert will emanate from these two workshops.
