Bay Roberts Old Ball Field / Community Gardens Repurposing

As a means of information and clarification, the Bay Roberts Recreation Department has decommissioned the old ballfield because of the construction of a new ballfield on the Wilbur Sparks Recreation Complex.

 

The Old Ball Field will be repurposed as a continuation of the existing Community Gardens.

 

In 2017, a Draft Concept was developed for the extension of the gardens to include an inclusive sensory/healing garden, water feature, community marketplace, flower gardens, swings set play area, and wheelchair accessible pathways for easy access to all the new amenities. This new green space will be unique and totally accessible for all the residents and visitors to the municipality of Bay Roberts.

 

With the addition of the new ballfield, both Recreation and Tourism Departments want to assure the participants that no programming will be compromised with this transition.
