COVID-19 Update – March 27, 2021
The Avalon has moved to Alert Level 2.
Your responsibility:
- Follow Public Health Guidance for All Alert Levels.
- People can move about more. Those at higher risk of complications due to COVID-19 should stay at home as much as possible, except to get essentials like groceries and medications.
- Your household bubble can interact with up to 20 close, consistent contacts from outside your household (Steady 20).
- If you have COVID-19 symptoms please use the Self-Assessment and Testing Referral tool, or contact 811 when online services are not accessible.
- Wear a non-medical mask when you are in public indoor settings. This includes when you are seated, except in restaurants and lounges.

Service Updates:
- The Town Office is open to the public. It is open 8:30am-4:30pm Monday-Friday.
- Garbage & recycling collection is still on schedule according to the calendar. Please find the calendar here.
Recreation & Tourism Facilities:
- The Walking Track at the Wilbur Sparkes Recreation Complex is open and is maintained 8:30am-4:30pm Monday-Friday. Use outside of these hours is at your own risk.
- The Dog Park, located on Keefe’s Road in Shearstown, is open to one family at a time. Please limit your use to 30 mins to allow others to use the facility.
- The Shoreline Heritage Walking Trail is permitted to be used but not maintained during winter months: please practice safe social distancing and exercise caution while using the trail.
- The Goose Pond Eco Trail is open but please practice safe social distancing, exercise caution, and walk in the clockwise direction.
