Junior Volunteer Program

This summer, the town has decided to take on an exciting new program that is designed to provide youth with a workplace educational experience. Each participant will be mentored and exposed to the duties associated with being employed as a leader in their designated field ie: Rec staff, lifeguard/pool staff, event staff. The program will be available for ages 14+ and will have a limited amount of space. The applicants will be able to apply online will be contacted to discuss participation. The program prides itself in providing a fun filled atmosphere designed to challenge youth by developing self-respect and a sense of camaraderie through team building. Junior Volunteers agree to adhere to policies and procedures of the town of Bay Roberts and the Department of Recreation.

Date and times:
Youth are required to volunteer once a week during the summer season. The scheduled day and time will be determined between the youth and on-site supervisor.

Volunteer Positions:

  • Summer Rec Program

  • Lifeguard / Pool Staff

  • Event Staff

Qualifications:
Age: 14 years of age or older.
Education: Currently enrolled in junior high or high school.

 

The following certificates are not mandatory but will aid in your application process:

  • Standard or Emergency First Aid / CPR

  • A Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Certificate of Conduct.

  • High Five Courses

  • Leadership Training
