Canadian Training Institute

The Canadian Training Institute, Bay Roberts located on L.T. Stick. They offer commercial driving instruction and heavy equipment operator instruction. The training school is an excellent fit for a town that has a number of wholesale businesses that transport goods using the Trans Canada Highway. It it also very necessary at a time when the demand for long haul truckers is increasing. Companies are working aggressively to attract recruits, offering more competitive benefit packages; flexible work schedules; and even allowing drivers to bring their families along for the trip.

Public Libraries

The Bay Roberts Public Library offers programs for all ages, which includes book readings by local authors. Free services of the library include internet access, free wireless internet access, scanning, and inter-library loans. For a small fee, library members can have access to colour and laser printing, faxing, and a digital camera for loan. Residents of Newfoundland and Labrador may obtain a library card from any branch, with one piece of identification with a unique number (Driver’s License, Student Id). You must have documentation showing your current home address to get a library card. Those under 13 years of age need a parent or guardian to sign the registration form, and to assume the legal responsibility for materials borrowed from the Library.
