Guided Tours
The Town of Bay Roberts offers two available tours – Cellars and Songs on Shoreline Heritage Walking Trail, and Toutons and Tunes on the Shoreline Heritage Walking Trail.
Saturdays, July – August, 1-3pm
Stroll through French’s Cove and explore the remnants of the resettled community, including restored root cellars, and discover the history. We recommend beginning at the French’s Cove access point on the trail (located on French’s Cove Road), then continue on down through French’s Cove to a restored root cellar, and catch our music team along the way playing some tunes. Bring along a lunch and enjoy it at the picnic table located along the hike!
Sundays, July – September, 1-3pm
The self guided “Toutons and Tunes” tour starts at the Crane’s Hill wharf, the first access point to the Shoreline Heritage Walking Trail. Take a stroll through Crane’s Hill and Mack’s Beach and scan the QR codes found on signage along the way to help you discover the history. If you go between 1-3pm on Sundays, you can stop by the Red Shed (just past Mack’s Beach) for some homemade traditional toutons and entertainment from our summer musical team **WEATHER DEPENDANT**.
