Welcome Dave Tibbo
The Town of Bay Roberts would like to welcome our new director of recreation, Dave Tibbo!
Dave brings to the Town of Bay Roberts 36 years of municipal experience in unionized and management roles, including 21 years as the Director of Recreation and Leisure Services with the Town of Conception Bay South. During this time, Dave oversaw indoor and outdoor recreation facilities, including the Recreation Complex, two arenas, and over 60 playgrounds and fields. On the programming side, Dave oversaw all leisure activities, including numerous special events such as the Kelligrews Soiree and Winterfest in CBS.
Dave was instrumental in the acquisition and execution of two Grand Slam of Curling events which brought international recognition to the Town. Highlights of his career include achieving the 2011 Kraft Hockeyville title and his role in two NL Summer Games hosted by the Town.. In 1996 he served on the Games Host Committee as Sports Director and most recently he served in a more leadership role as the Towns liaison when they hosted the 2016 Newfoundland and Labrador Summer Games.
Dave is acutely aware of the demands of a senior management position but also appreciates the satisfaction of building a cohesive and high-performing team. He holds himself very accountable from a personal and organizational perspective and believes in a clear and consistent approach to work planning and execution.
“I look forward to bringing my many years of experience to the Town of Bay Roberts,” says Tibbo. “I look forward to meeting and working with Council and Staff, all the community groups, its facility users and residents to continue the growth of recreation in the Town. Ian Flynn has left a fine legacy with the Town and I commend him for a wonderful job done over the years.”
