Town of Bay Roberts, Newfoundland – Labrador

5 Blooms – Bronze
Community Event Gathering Spaces
PRESS RELEASE: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Stratford, Ontario, October 18th, 2025 —
The Town of Bay Roberts received a rating of 5 Blooms – Bronze and a special mention for Community Event Gathering Spaces during the 2025 National/International Symposium and Awards Ceremonies in the City of Stratford, Ontario. The Town of Bay Roberts participated in the Class of Champions Small category along with Castlegar BC.

Over the summer, trained volunteer judges travelled to participating communities to evaluate the overall contributions of municipal council and departments; industry; businesses and the private sector – including volunteer efforts – regarding the following criteria: Community Appearance, Environmental Action, Heritage Conservation, Tree Management, Landscape and Plant & Floral Displays.

Following their evaluation, volunteer judges Angela Vieth and Seville Kwan wrote:
“The Town of Bay Roberts offers a variety of indoor and outdoor community event spaces that host gatherings and celebrations throughout the year. From Concerts in the Park at the Community Gardens, to Toutons and Tunes at the Red Shed, to seasonal concerts and Christmas craft vendors at the new Community Marketplace, there’s always something to enjoy. These amenities are provided not only for local residents, but also for visitors from near and far, creating a welcoming space for community connection and shared experiences.”
Within the actual context of climate changes and environmental concerns, communities involved in the program can be proud of their efforts, which provide real and meaningful environmental solutions and benefit all of society.
